Want to be more confident during an audition-like situation or interested in auditioning for shows around the city? Then you’ve got to Build Your Book!
In this workshop, students will learn the basics of how to prepare a song cut for their audition book and how to communicate to an accompanist during an audition. Each hot seat student will also receive masterclass-style coaching (one-on-one in front of the rest of the group) on a song cut pulled from one of four “must-have” audition genres–working on vocal technique, acting the song, and collaborating with a pianist. Hot seat student’s will walk away with a 32-bar cut ready to take into an audition room and the confidence to continue to Build Your Book!
Location
This workshop will take place at the 14th St Y, 344 East 14th St, in the Community Rooms.
