Lauren Gonzalez is a proud Puerto Rican born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She fell in love with musical theater in 2005 after being cast as The Scarecrow in The Wiz. From then on, she performed in various high school musical theater productions that include Bye, Bye, Birdie, Aida, and Into the Woods.

Lauren was introduced to AfterWork Theater in 2016 by a former High School Teacher & dear friend. She was hooked from then on and performed in various sing outs, West Side Story, Sister Act, and Cabaret.

Aside from performing, Lauren has been a Director, Stage Manager, Associate Director/Stage Manager for Ragtime, American Idiot, Sing Out:Divas, Peter And The Starcatcher, High School Musical, and Sing Out:80s.

Her love for this community, musical theater, friends & family have contributed to all of her successes and happiness over the past 5 years, and she cannot wait to see what’s in store for her next!
