Dance Technique 101
Each week we’ll spend the majority of the time focusing on developing proper alignment and placement through:
– conditioning and strength exercises
– stretching and flexibility exercises, and
– turns, kicks, and leap combinations.
We’ll spend the remaining time learning small pieces of Broadway, pop, or lyrical choreography to integrate the technique as well as practice memorization and performance strategies.
This will be a LAID BACK environment for Beginner to Intermediate performers to improve their fundamental dance technique and also build community. The extra time is built in to open the space for asking questions and receiving individualized feedback, in a true workshop fashion.
COVID safety protocols: Currently, participation in an AWT program is restricted to individuals who are fully vaccinated and have received at least one booster. You will be asked to provide this information by January 22, or within 2 hours of registration if that date has passed. If you have not provided this information by that time your registration will be cancelled.
Rehearsal policy: Classes will be mask optional.
AWT You (niversity) tuition is completely non-refundable for any reason whatsoever. Participants who withdraw from a program more than seven (7) days prior to their first class may transfer tuition toward a future program within one calendar year from the start of the initial program purchased. Participants who withdraw within seven (7) days from their first class are not eligible for a refund of any kind, will not be able to transfer tuition towards a future program, and are responsible for the full tuition amount regardless of how many monthly payments have incurred at the time of withdrawal.
If a program is cancelled due to extenuating circumstances outside the control of AfterWork Theater, there will be no refunds or credits issued, and the value of your unused tuition will be considered a donation to AWT for which you will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
