Pay What You Can Options

If the $300 tuition is not within your budget, please consider our Pay What You Can options ($285 for this program). We are also offering financial assistance until the deadline on the application for up to 100% off. Our ability to offer this program with affordable options is contingent on those with the ability to pay full tuition choosing that option. Description

A Chorus Line Bootcamp Dance Ensemble

For the first time, we are adding a dance ensemble to augment certain portions of our Bootcamp production of A Chorus Line! Think of this as an A Chorus Line-themed dance class that wraps in short performances! Participants will perform ensemble sections of the original Michael Bennett choreography during Bootcamp shows, during “God, I Hope I Get It” and “One.” There could also be opportunities for features or additional songs depending on participant interest and availability. A few other things to note:
  1. Dancers will be in one ensemble (not divided by cast) and will perform in each bootcamp presentation
  2. Choreography will be adapted for any experience level
  3. Dancers will focus only on dance – Bootcamp casts will handle the singing!

Schedule

Classes will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings between May 11 and June 3, from 7p to 9p. Tech and performances will occur between June 9 and June 21. Please see the calendar below for the complete schedule. Participants will be needed on all dates.

Attendance

We have a flexible attendance policy, but we do feel that if participants have to miss significantly more than 1 -2 classes it may be harder to catch up and may impact participant experience. Please keep this guideline in mind when deciding to register for this program! If participants do miss significantly more than 2 classes, it will be up to the creative team to decide if that impacts which numbers they can safely perform on stage.

Location

The below locations are our most frequently used rehearsal locations, though locations are subject to change and may vary throughout the program. We also sometimes use various Ripley-Grier locations. The location for this class has not yet been determined and will be communicated to you at a later date. Tech and performances will take place at the Theater at the 14th St Y.

COVID Safety

COVID safety protocols: Masks are always welcome! Depending on the number of people in the room and/or the size of the room, there may be some days where masks are required.

Refund Policy

AWT You(niversity) tuition is completely non-refundable for any reason whatsoever. Participants who withdraw more than two weeks prior to the beginning of their first class may receive a tuition credit (minus a $20 processing fee) that can be used toward a future Performance Program or AWT You Class no more than one calendar year from the start date of the initial program purchased. Participants who withdraw less than two weeks prior to the beginning of their first class are not eligible for a refund of any kind, will not be able to transfer tuition towards a future program, and are responsible for the full tuition amount regardless of how many monthly payments have incurred at the time of withdrawal.

If a program is canceled due to extenuating circumstances outside the control of AfterWork Theater, there will be no refunds or credits issued, and the value of your unused tuition will be considered a donation to AWT for which you will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
